"The sound of thunder ricocheting through my ears. I take deep breaths, deep concentrated, life sustaining breaths to fuel my overworked body. Pulsating, sweating, vibrating of sensation new, fresh and bold to me.
I look down as the ground passes beneath my feet. Clocking and secure in its reassuring rhythm. Then snap my eyes up to the night, fixed further ahead at the open vast sky before, clouds dancing with the sway of the wind. Stars getting ready to just begin. All of it passing way from the periphial range of my vision. Parting away like the sea before moses. Relocating to the fancy of my mind, and to others who may have shared that moment in time. Like my dear friend Hayden beside me.
Heading north on the 25, north of Fort Collins, Colorado. We had a thing for riding on major highways. Somewhere between there and Cheyenne. Riders in the wilds, the wilds of the wild west. Only we didn't have horses, we had skateboards. Crusaders of the new style."
beginning to "Road of the Intrepid Traveler"
Working on a book that is working me. Felt hot and cold to every extreme degree and now settling back to the original notion that has had so many a joy and a heart attack.
This world today, the world that needs saved, that's where it is at. Raising human conscience to the point of elevation, into the universe... It ain't gonna be a rocket ship to get us there, but a frame of mind... all good things in all good time.
But this book, this particular work, that unites so many a notion, that began us to realize that their really is a plight at hand, a fight of which to take a stand, a chilling starry night to feel Gods hand.
Upon us, all of it is.
